 Using recordmydesktop (to be exact, qt-recordmydesktop), I was able to create a quick video on Mandriva 2010 Cooker.
It is saved in Theora (ogv), but YouTube excepts this video format, so it only took a couple minutes to upload and was converted automagically.

Next time I'll lower my screen resolution and try to actually think of something to do prior to recording the video....
