I’ve released the first version of the UPnP MediaServer KIO slave which allows KDE applications to seamlessly browse UPnP devices on the network, and access their files. An outcome of my Google Summer of Code, this is the first step towards getting UPnP Collection support into Amarok.
The Cabinet of Ministers of Argentina signed an agreement with the multinational Red Hat computing to promote use of free software in public administration in the South American country, officials said.

If you've ever looked into the various programs available to download via bittorrent, you will probably have discovered µtorrent. Back then it was probably already tiny and full-featured at the same time. It even had customizations to better run inside WINE. But it didn't run natively on Linux. Of course that made the very low resource bittorrent client much more resource hungry. Now this all changed.
There has always been resistance from many, especially small business enterprises in using Linux based computer systems. And the major reason that is cited by most or all of them is the issue with Desktop Publishing (DTP) application. However, for those who feel pessimistic about using Linux can now relax their apprehensions with Scribus.

Since I begin to use KDE, my big desire It was to contribut with code, but I would have to study different things (indeed that was what I wanted the most: a challenge), and I admit that I thought many times that I would never be able to do it. So I decided to make talks about “KDE for Beginners” (beginners like I was), It was a quickly way to promote and contribut to FOSS, more quickly than to develop.
Several community members have asked about the Nagios trademark and rumors of trademark problems with a German company called NETWAYS. This post will hopefully clear some things up.
The beauty of an open development platform is that anyone can take a stab at creating an application. KDE, which is built upon the Qt application and UI framework, is a shining example of this. A quick look at KDE-Apps.org reveals that new apps are added daily. I periodically browse through the latest KDE apps to see if anything stands out, and I found these five, some of which are in early development.
The Mageia project is a fork of Mandriva Linux. It is a brand new project, announced on September 18, 2010. There is an ongoing discussion about different aspects of the project, and one of those discussion revolves around the project’s logo. There have been some very good and some not so good logos proposed by community members, and what is being presented in this article are some of the proposed logos.
