Mandrakelinux 10.2 RC1  View Printable Version
Saturday, March 19 2005 @ 01:37 PM CST
Contributed by: Linegod

Mandrake CookerFrom MandrakeClub:

The first Release Candidate of the Mandrakelinux 10.2 is available for computers x86 compatible via FTP or bittorrent.

The final version is due in two weeks, it is now very important for you to give the more feedback as possible.

You can post bugs with bugzilla. Please check that your bugs have not already been reported.

You are encouraged to check the Wiki to have the latest pieces of information, as well as the Release Notes.

Club members have access to a DVD with far more packages (3700 against 1800 for the 3 CDs) as with the x86_64 beta 2. This DVD also includes several device drivers and proprietary files format support. If you have already downloaded the 3 CDs version, you can use the Supplementary Drivers CD, only 280 MB, which only includes what is needed to configure 3D functions on some video cards, most of the WiFi cards drivers, and plug-ins drivers for proprietary file and video formats. This CD must be used as a new CD 1.

Mandrakelinux 10.2 beta 2!  View Printable Version
Wednesday, February 09 2005 @ 06:58 AM CST
Contributed by: Linegod

Mandrake CookerFrom MandrakeClub:

Available since a few days on the mirrors, the 10.2 beta 2, nearly on time, to have a clearer and clearer idea of what will be the final 10.2.

As usual, you can grab the 3 ISO files via FTP, bitorrent., or directly into the live section Mandrakelinux/devel/10.2 on the mirrors.

You can now test the full copy of the CDs content during installation. After the CDs are copied, you will not need your CDs any more to install new packages. I also remind you that you do not have to burn the ISO files to perform an installation. You can keep them on your hard drive and use the small boot.iso image to boot with the 'Hard Disk' installation method where you specify the path of the ISO files. Then urpmi should be able to install new packages directly from the ISO files.

Mandrakelinux 10.2 beta 1  View Printable Version
Monday, January 24 2005 @ 10:23 PM CST
Contributed by: Linegod

Mandrake CookerFrom MandrakeClub:

The Mandrakelinux 10.2 Beta 1 is now available on FTP mirrors, as well as via bittorrent. Three ISO images of 700 MB, 1700 packages, are in the Mandrakelinux/devel/iso/10.2/i586 on most Mandrakelinux mirrors.

Packages are also available directly from the FTP tree, if you want to update your system without reinstalling. Find all the media in Mandrakelinux/devel/10.2/i586 on the mirrors.

If you stop reading now and rush to test, only remember to report your bugs on Bugzilla, and perform the tests available in the Testzilla section. The Community Wiki also contains worthwhile info.

Mandrakelinux 10.2 Christmas Cooker Snapshot!  View Printable Version
Friday, December 31 2004 @ 10:01 AM CST
Contributed by: Linegod

Mandrake CookerFrom MandrakeClub:

Available on any good mirror is a Christmas cooker snapshot. Only one CD, but it has now the 'adding extra sources' feature during install. Some thematic changes, which, you have my word, are not previews of future 10.2 ones. Previously our boot process didn't have any animations, except the progress bar; I corrected this error, with my poor art skills, I must admit, and create a small animation, which, I hope, will help the community using my example to create new ones, prettier.

Mandrake Cooker Mandrakelinux 10.1 Beta 2 is out. Now is the time to test it out and report any bugs, since the Release Candidates will be out shortly, and unless its a 'show stopper', it won't make it in.

You can get it via Bittorrent at http://qa.mandrakesoft.com/torrent/, or wait for it to hit the mirrors

Mandrakelinux 10.1 Beta 1  View Printable Version

Contributed by: Linegod

Mandrake CookerFrom MandrakeClub:

At last something to make your summer hotter, far better than all these linux unaware suntanned chicks and chaps you would like to get along with on the beach. Forget them and go back home, full up your fridge with soya drinks (or your favorite one, but remember than fast assimilated sugar shorten your life expectancy). It is time to test your new air conditionner limits, switching on all the computers sitting arround to test this new Mandrakelinux 10.1 beta!

First start to download it, either from one of the mirrors or via bittorrent, and then have a look at the new features. You can also perform a network installation directly from the repository /Mandrakelinux/devel/10.1/i586 on the mirrors.

Remember than you can now install from all the ISO files without burning them booting either with the hd_grub.img or the small boot.iso image.
