Friday, October 13 2006 @ 08:52 AM CST
Contributed by: Linegod

HowtoFrom Nuxified.org:

This tutorial is intended for people with at least basic Unix knowledge, such as mounting filesystems and copying files.

OpenSSH, an OpenBSD project, is an incredibly secure implementation of the SSH protocol, a way of logging into a remote machine. For users of outdated protocols such as RSH, rlogin, and Telnet, it's an updated, secure replacement. For those who have never used anything like it, SSH can become a very valuable tool.

MySQL Master Master Repliction Tutorial  View Printable Version
Sunday, October 08 2006 @ 11:21 AM CST
Contributed by: Linegod

HowtoFrom Howtoforge:

This tutorial describes how to set up MySQL master-master replication. We need to replicate MySQL servers to achieve high-availability (HA). In my case I need two masters that are synchronized with each other soXthat if one of them drops down, other could take over and no data is lost. Similarly when the first one goes up again, it will still be used as slave for the live one.

Use Fedora Directory Server For Manageable LDAP (Part 1)  View Printable Version
Tuesday, August 29 2006 @ 10:58 AM CST
Contributed by: Linegod

HowtoFrom LinuxPlanet:

Terminology pedants go all nutso over incorrect expressions like "LDAP database" and suffer dangerously high blood pressure as a result, so let's be nice to the pedants and use the correct words. LDAP--Lightweight Directory Access Protocol--is a protocol that stores and retrieves information from a directory, which for both OpenLDAP and Fedora Directory Services is stored in a Berkeley DB. I think you're pretty safe using "LDAP directory" as a shortcut.
